CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — There was a new addition to Clemson’s sideline during the Tigers’ 38-10 route of North Carolina on Saturday.
For the first time all season, defensive coordinator Tom Allen was on the field leading the defense.
Allen had been up in the coaches’ box during the first four games, a decision that was totally his, as Clemson struggled to a 1-3 start. With his defense struggling, Allen decided now was the time to make the move back down.
Dabo Swinney addressed the move after the victory, noting that where Allen coaches from is ultimately up to him.
