The Tigers have experienced a lot of recruiting success in the month of June, including beating out Texas for a coveted defensive end on Thursday, but one day later, they have missed on one of their top remaining targets.
Five-star safety Joey O’Brien (LaSalle, PA) announced a commitment to Notre Dame on Friday. O’Brien chose the Fighting Irish over Clemson, Penn State and Oregon. He is hoping to play at both safety and receiver at the collegiate level.
O’Brien nabbed his offer from the Tigers in February, then was on hand for the Elite Retreat in March, before returning for the big official visit weekend earlier this month.
