One of the top linebackers in the 2027 recruiting class made his way back to Clemson for the Tigers’ season opener against LSU.
Four-star Jalaythan Mayfield (Lincolnton, NC) was back on campus for the first time since visiting for the Underclass Experience back in March. It was his first time experiencing a game day at Clemson.
“Really, the crowd and just the atmosphere,” Mayfield told The Clemson Insider regarding what stood out. “It was like one of one. You can not copy that. It was just different. It was a good experience for sure.”
While Mayfield says he hears from linebackers coach Ben Boulware fairly regularly, the visit gave the two an opportunity to catch up face-to-face.
