Where do things stand in Ohio with legalized sports wagering? Well, it's complicated.

It’s been a little more than a year since Ohio introduced two bills – House Bill 194 and Senate Bill 111 – that would legalize and regulate sports wagering in the Buckeye State.

So where do things stand now?

Amid the current landscape caused by the novel coronavirus pandemic, legalized gambling is not a priority at the moment, but The Enquirer spoke with State Representative Brigid Kelly, a co-sponsor of Bill 194, before the pandemic to get a sense of where Ohio sits in the process.
