'We're pretty fired up': Cincinnati Reds to host preseason camp in Cincinnati and Mason

Cincinnati Reds catcher Tucker Barnhart said he’s felt just about every emotion since Major League Baseball postponed the start of the season in mid-March.

There was frustration with the way the owners and Players Association had their labor battle play out publicly. There was some sadness that he couldn’t play the sport that he loved.

On Wednesday, it was pure joy. The MLB will start its 60-game season on July 23 or 24 after a three-week training camp. Reds players will report to Cincinnati next week.

“I can’t begin to tell how excited I am to get back to playing,” said Barnhart, the team’s rep for the players union.
