GOODYEAR, Arizona – For Cincinnati Reds pitcher Trevor Bauer, the Houston Astros’ sign-stealing scandal is personal.
Bauer said the Astros mocked him and attacked his character when he said they were using foreign substances to enhance the spin on their pitches in 2018. He called them “hypocrites” after their sign-stealing scheme was revealed.
The Astros swept the Cleveland Indians, Bauer’s former team, out of the postseason in the 2018 American League Division Series.
