The Detroit Tigers announced that left-handed pitcher Travis Wood, a former Cincinnati Reds draft pick who pitched for the team in 2010 and 2011, was diagnosed with a torn ACL and medial meniscus in his left knee.
The 31-year-old Wood suffered the injury Thursday during a rundown in his first Spring Training game for Detroit.
He’s weighing surgical options, according to MLB.com’s Jason Beck via Twitter.
Wood was in Tigers camp on a minor-league deal and competing for a roster spot.
Wood was a second-round pick of the Reds in the 2005 draft.
