Fresh off being selected to his fifth career All-Star Game, Joey Votto was named the National League Player of the Week on Monday.

The Reds' star first baseman, one of the best hitters in the league year in and year out, is having a typically impressive season at the plate. He entered Monday's series opener against the Rockies hitting .317/.429/.621 with 23 home runs and 59 RBIs, while leading the NL with a 1.050 OPS and 56 walks.

"There are so many parts of his game that I'm impressed with, and he continues to become a better and a more well-rounded player," manager Bryan Price said of Votto on Friday, after Votto homered twice against the Brewers.
