Tommy Pham answers boos with big night, but Cincinnati Reds drop seventh straight game

SAN DIEGO – The Cincinnati Reds went eight days without holding a lead in a game before Tommy Pham homered in the top of the first inning Monday.

The lead lasted eight minutes.

Pham, returning to boos in his first game back in San Diego, was a man on a mission and finished a triple shy of the cycle, but the Reds couldn’t break out of their offensive rut in a 4-1 loss to the Padres at Petco Park. It was the Reds’ seventh consecutive loss, which matches their longest losing streak from last season.
