The Good
–Not much to say here. Marlon Byrd had a couple of hits, including a double, and he’s now hit in 12 consecutive games. Burke Badenhop pitched a perfect inning in relief.
The Bad
–The Redlegs were shut out. That’s bad.
–Jay Bruce was 0-4, striking out three times. That’s bad.
Not-So-Random Thoughts
–I like when the Reds win. Shutout losses…not so much. That’s bad.
–Michael Lorenzen started and pitched okay. Not great, but it should have been enough to win: six innings, two runs on five hits and four walks.
