Sonny Gray undergoes arthroscopic elbow surgery after final start in 2019 season

Sonny Gray underwent arthroscopic elbow surgery to remove bone chips from his right elbow Wednesday, one day after he made his final start in a stellar 2019 season.

It was considered minor surgery and won’t affect Gray’s offseason plans. The Reds learned he would need the surgery in spring training.

“Everything was successful,” Reds manager David Bell said. “It’s not going to affect his offseason. He’s going to be good to go next year.
