Sonny Gray returned to the dugout after the fifth inning, went through a line of high-fives from his teammates, then received hugs from pitching coach Derek Johnson and catcher Tucker Barnhart.

After reuniting with Johnson, his college pitching coach, he delivered one of the best seasons of his career. He transformed himself into one of the top pitchers in the National League and rewarded the Reds after they traded for him in the offseason.
