For the second year in a row, the Reds own the No. 2 pick in Monday’s Major League Baseball Draft. In 2016, the Reds had a plethora of choices before selecting Tennessee third baseman Nick Senzel with the second pick.
This year the Reds are down to three players for the second pick — Louisville first baseman and left-handed pitcher Brendan McKay, Vanderbilt right-hander Kyle Wright and California prep right-hander and shortstop Hunter Greene.
The Enquirer talked to Dan O’Dowd about the draft. O’Dowd is the former Rockies general manager and will be one of MLB Network’s analysts for the broadcast of Monday’s first round and competitive balance picks.
