CINCINNATI -- A seven-run top of the sixth inning against Homer Bailey and Amir Garrett, where the Indians put 11 men to the plate and sent the Reds to a 10-3 defeat on Monday in their series opener at Great American Ball Park.
It was a 2-2 game when Bailey returned for the sixth with 90 pitches. Trouble began when Greg Allen hit a one-out single to left field and stole second base. The go-ahead run crossed when pinch-hitter Yandy Diaz hit an RBI double to left field that scored Allen.
