Robert Stephenson struggles in return, Jacob deGrom dazzles in Mets 8-0 win over Reds

Jacob deGrom entered play today leading all of baseball in ERA, at 1.85. The New York Mets starter also owned the single best ERA+ in the National League - at 204 - and best FIP in the senior circuit - at 2.27.

Despite all of that, however, he took the mound against the Cincinnati Reds with a worse winning percentage than each of Sal Romano, Matt Harvey, Tyler Mahle, and Anthony DeSclafani, each of whom owns a season ERA nearly three full runs worse than deGrom’s mark prior to today.
