Cincinnati Reds senior advisor and former manager Lou Piniella is recovering from a minor stroke he suffered recently, according to a report Wednesday via Twitter from Bob Klapisch, a sportswriter who has worked for The Bergen Record, USA Today and The New York Post, among others.
The Enquirer's Sam Greene Tweeted a photo of Piniella with the Reds in Goodyear, Ariz., on Wednesday.
The Reds hired Piniella in 2016 in a consulting capacity as a senior advisor to baseball operations.
Piniella managed the Reds from 1990 - when he led the team to its most recent World Series title - to 1992.
