Katz Nagao traveled from Arizona to his home near Chicago at the end of spring training. His next trip will take him to Louisville, but he’s still waiting to find out when that will happen.
Nagao, a writer for Kyodo News, will closely follow Cincinnati Reds outfielder Shogo Akiyama as he rehabs from a hamstring injury throughout the month. Akiyama, beginning the season on the 10-day injured list, is expected to soon report to the Reds’ alternate site in Louisville to continue his rehab.
