As talks about bringing back baseball go on and on and on, things get worse and worse and worse for the Reds.

That’s based on this simple assumption: A shorter regular season is bad for the Reds. Why? The club’s strength is its starting rotation. Over the Big 162 of a typical season, a deep and strong rotation is the greatest asset for a club.

The Reds also added offensive depth with the late signing of Nick Castellanos.
