The Cincinnati Reds activated shortstop Zack Cozart from the disabled list Friday, inserting him and his now healthy quad back into the lineup. The move also would seem to insert Cozart back into trade chatter, with a couple contenders losing young shortstops to long-term injuries in the last couple days.
But according Dick Williams, the team’s President of Baseball Operations, the Reds are interested in exploring a path that would take them in the opposite direction of shipping Cozart out of town.
