There was nothing in Wandy Peralta’s numbers during his September call-up last season that suggested he would be a dominant force out of the bullpen this year.
But that taste, that introduction to the big leagues was enough for Peralta to know he belonged, even though he had an 8.59 ERA in 10 games for the Reds.
“As soon as you see how things work here and everything we have here, you don't want to go back to the minor leagues,” said Peralta, according to Reds translator Julio Morillo. “For me, it was just motivation to keep working hard and knowing what I have to do better to stay here for all of my career.
