The 22-41 Reds look for their first win this year against the Cardinals in eight tries in the first of a three-game series tonight on Marvel Super Hero Night at Great American Ball Park. After the game, those in attendance will enjoy a fireworks show featuring a super-hero-themed soundtrack performed live by the Cincinnati Pops.
St. Louis is 33-27, three games behind the Brewers and in third place in the NL Central. The Reds’ 0-7 record vs. the Cardinals is a big contributor to their overall poor record against NL Central opponents this year, 6-19.
In 45 games under Jim Riggleman, the Reds are 19-26 – certainly not what we would hope for, but clearly much closer to expectations than the 3-15 start to the season under Bryan Price.
