Reds spring training observations: Outfielders continue strong spring at the plate

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Cincinnati Reds outfielder Aristides Aquino stood in the batter’s box for three seconds while holding the bat in his hand.

He was waiting to see how far his home run landed. When the ball finally fell well beyond the left-field bullpen, Aquino flipped his bat and jogged around the bases. His two-run home run broke open the game Monday as the Reds beat the Kansas City Royals, 10-6, in front of a crowd of 1,559 at Goodyear Ballpark.

“Aquino has worked so hard and been open-minded with adjustments trying to get him back on track,” Reds manager David Bell said.
