ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Reds snapped their nine-game losing streak with a 7-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday at Tropicana Field.
Here are the main storylines from Monday’s game:
• Reds rally in 8th: After Michael Lorenzen gave up the lead in the bottom of the seventh, the Reds offense picked him up, with two of the local kids coming through.
Scooter Gennett, who lives in Sarasota, Fla., led off the inning with a double and Joey Votto followed with a RBI single to give the Reds a 4-3 lead.
After Rays reliever Jose Alvarado walked Adam Duvall, he was replaced by Danny Farquhar.
