GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Lucas Sims will begin the season on the 10-day Injured List, the result of a slower progression in camp, but he doesn't expect to miss many games.
Sims threw a bullpen session off a mound Wednesday. He plans to face hitters before the end of camp in a live batting practice session, though he’s not scheduled to pitch in any Cactus League games. It puts him on track to ramp up for the season in simulated games during the first week of the season.
“I really give Lucas a lot of credit for trusting our plan,” manager David Bell said.
