Reds recap: Starter struggles drag team down

The starting pitching struggles continued Sunday for the Cincinnati Reds, who fell 6-4 to the Colorado Rockies at Great American Ball Park. Here are the main storylines.

Bronson Arroyo had home run problems. The 40-year-old right-hander didn’t allow a hit in his first two innings, but the Rockies started catching up to him – or, in the case of a pitcher with his lowered velocity, slowing down to him – in the third.

Arroyo gave up hits to three of his first four batters in the third, leading to two runs. Then he began struggling with the long ball.
