DENVER – The Cincinnati Reds waltzed to an easy win on Independence Day, beating the Colorado Rockies 8-1 on Tuesday at Coors Field. Here are the main storylines.
Homer Bailey looked way more like himself. After two terrible starts to start the year – one that lasted 1 2/3 innings and another that lasted three – Bailey finally gave the Reds the type of start they were hoping for when he returned from surgery to remove bone spurs from his elbow. He allowed just one run over six innings, throwing 99 pitches and striking out three.
