Reds Player Power Rankings, Episode 2

When we last checked in, two weeks into the season, the Reds were in first place and flying high. The last six weeks have been a bit more up and down; Cincinnati stands at 26-30, good for 4th place in the National League Central division.

Surprisingly, there’s still plenty of good news. The rest of the division has been nearly as bad as the Reds over the last couple of months, so Cincinnati is just 4 games out of first place (this time last year, the Reds were already 19 games out and fading fast). The fact that the Reds are still hanging around is a testament to this widespread mediocrity, but also the outstanding production from almost everyone who isn’t a pitcher.
