Sunday was a planned off day for Cincinnati Reds shortstop Zack Cozart, but not for general rest. The Reds are being proactive about resting the sore left wrist that has bugged the 31-year-old for more than a month.
Cozart initially injured the wrist on the team’s first road trip of the season, and has missed games here and there when it flares up. He’s been wearing a splint when not playing in order to keep his wrist in a good position.
“I don’t even know why I go a week or two feeling great and it just pops up again,” Cozart said.
