Reds notes: Tony Santillan looks like a natural in first career save opportunity

ATLANTA – With a three-run lead after the eighth inning Thursday, Kyle Farmer and Mike Moustakas were chatting about who manager David Bell would bring out of the bullpen for the save situation.

The Reds had 10 different players record a save last year and none were on the Reds’ Opening Day roster. Luis Cessa, Justin Wilson and Dauri Moreta had already pitched out of the bullpen. Bell never named a closer out of camp, so it was a little bit of a mystery.

“We both said (Tony) Santillan,” Farmer said after the Cincinnati Reds’ 6-3 win over Atlanta.
