Reds notes: Jackson Stephens' long trip to Toronto debut

TORONTO – Jackson Stephens made it to the big leagues – a few hours later than he’d hoped.

The Reds right-hander was called up from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday and the team had hoped he’d be able to join them in time for Tuesday night’s game in Toronto. Instead, he was in the Atlanta airport when the Reds and Blue Jays started the second game of their series at Rogers Centre, at what was supposed to be his first game in the big leagues.

Instead, Stephens arrived at the team’s hotel a little after 1 a.m. on Wednesday morning and hours later was in the clubhouse for the Wednesday afternoon series finale with the Blue Jays.
