DENVER -- The Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday placed catcher Devin Mesoraco on the 10-day disabled list with an injury to his left shoulder, the same shoulder that required surgery a year ago. The injury was officially termed a left shoulder strain.
Mesoraco missed most of the last two years due to injuries that needed surgery. In 2015, he had an operation to repair the labrum in one of his hips. Last season, he injured his shoulder in April and wound up having labrum repair surgery on it as well. Mesoraco also had his other hip labrum repaired proactively last year, after he was already out for the season.
