Would Reds relief pitcher Michael Lorenzen, who hit three home runs in a week in late June and has homered five times in 60 career at-bats for Cincinnati, participate in the Home Run Derby on July 16 if invited?
"Absolutely. It would be a dream come true," Lorenzen said on MLB Network's Intentional Talk: Caught Listening podcast.
Several top MLB sluggers have said they won't take part in the upcoming derby. The Nationals' Bryce Harper, who oddly hit fewer homers in June than Gatorade ad co-star Lorenzen, has said he'll participate if he makes the National League All-Star team as expected.
