The Cincinnati Reds signed right-handed pitcher Julian Garcia to a minor-league deal this week, and one can presume that he'll receive an invite to spring training next year. Garcia, who'd been on the Indy Ball circuit throughout most of last season, joined the Reds organization near the end of the year and appeared in three games for the Chattanooga Lookouts.
In his three starts at Double-A Chattanooga, Garcia was 1-1 with an impressive 1.13 ERA through 16 innings pitched. The 30-year-old allowed two earned runs on 10 hits and managed to strike out 21 of the 59 batters he faced.
