GOODYEAR, Ariz. – At this time last year, Matt McLain was the starting shortstop at UCLA playing a series on the road at Cal Poly. Now in 2022, McLain will participate in major league spring training with the Cincinnati Reds.
On Friday, the Reds invited McLain and outfielder Ronnie Dawson to major league spring training.

McLain, the Reds first-round pick in the 2021 MLB Draft, has been training at the Reds spring training complex in minor league spring training for the last three weeks.
