As Reds general manager Dick Williams wrapped up the first day of the 2017 draft on Monday, he noted that the next order of business was drafting more pitchers.
On Tuesday, the Reds did just that, using six of their eight picks on day two on pitchers, including Alabama high school left-hander Jacob Heatherly with the second pick of the third round, No. 77 overall.
Tuesday was the second day of the three-day MLB draft, with the first two rounds on Monday night, rounds three through 10 on Tuesday and rounds 11 through 40 on Wednesday.
