Reds fall as Iglesias is held for a lead that never comes

LOS ANGELES – Raisel Iglesias did not pitch.

Iglesias is by far the Cincinnati Reds’ best reliever, the top arm in a bullpen that manager Bryan Price has talked about using creatively. He has a 0.57 ERA and hasn’t allowed a run since April 23. He allows less than one baserunner per inning.

He hasn’t been held exclusively for save situations. In April, Price brought him in to the fifth and pitched him two innings. He’s pitched more than one inning seven times in 26 appearances.

But Saturday at Dodger Stadium, Price returned to conventional baseball wisdom.
