Reds drop 13-inning thriller to Cardinals after paying tribute to Pujols, Molina

More than four hours after the Cincinnati Reds paid tribute to future Hall of Famers Albert Pujols and Yadier Molina before their final game at Great American Ball Park, Pujols left his own parting gift.

Pujols drove in the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly in the top of the 13th inning, earning a standing ovation from the St. Louis Cardinals fans in the crowd, and that set up a mini-rally to hand the Reds a 5-3 loss in their longest game of the season.

The Reds had their chances. Searching for a walk-off hit, they left two runners on base in the 10th inning and the bases loaded in the 11th and 12th innings.
