Before his seventh-inning home run in Wednesday’s 7-2 victory over the Pirates, Devin Mesoraco’s last home run came on Sept. 23, 2014. He’d had 117 at-bats since the last home run.
Those two numbers tell you many things about the last two years for Mesoraco – he hasn’t played much in that time, and when he was playing, he wasn’t producing like anyone had hoped.
“There hadn't been too many good days for me here in the last couple of years,” Mesoraco said after Wednesday’s game.
