Reactions: Cincinnati Reds clinch playoff berth, reach first MLB postseason since 2013

The Cincinnati Reds got a win Friday night, and got the help they needed to clinch a berth in Major League Baseball's postseason for the first time since 2013.

The Reds' 7-2 victory ended about an hour after the Milwaukee Brewers' 9-1 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals in seven innings in the second game of a doubleheader, giving Cincinnati and its fans reason to celebrate. (The Philadelphia Phillies lost earlier in the evening, which also was needed.)

"Right now they ought to be a real trendy pick to upset somebody," Fox Sports Ohio analyst Chris Welsh said shortly after they clinched.
