ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Reds left-hander Wandy Peralta’s surprised many people with his start for the Reds this season. The 25-year-old is 3-1 with a 3.15 ERA out of the Reds bullpen this season and has gone from the last guy on the roster when camp broke to a trusted back-of-the-bullpen arm.
Jumbo Diaz wasn’t surprised.
The former Reds reliever had taken Peralta under his wing, giving him advice last year and then again this spring when the two were throwing partners.
