With a Wednesday deadline to finalize which players are protected from next month’s Rule 5 Draft, the Cincinnati Reds added four players to their 40-man roster: catcher Tyler Stephenson, starting pitchers Tony Santillan and Tejay Antone, and reliever Ryan Hendrix.
Stephenson and Santillan were probably the easiest decisions because they are ranked among the top prospects in the organization and they both could make their big-league debut during the 2020 season.
