There is some optimism around Major League Baseball that a season could begin in early July following a short period of spring training.

How the season will look remains a mystery. Local, state and federal officials will decide whether teams can play in their own ballparks, likely without fans, or if the sport needs to pursue more radical options like playing games exclusively in one, two or three states.

The only certainty, assuming MLB is cleared to play, is that it won’t look like any other season in modern history.
