Four days after Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred released his findings on the Houston Astros sign-stealing scandal, three managers and one general manager have been fired.
Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow and manager A.J. Hinch were suspended for one season. Former Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora, the Astros bench coach in 2017, is likely facing a lengthy suspension, but that won’t be announced until MLB completes its investigation into sign-stealing allegations about the Red Sox in 2018.
Carlos Beltrán, who lost his job with the New York Mets before managing his first game with them, was the only Astros player named in Manfred’s report.
