Nick Senzel sets Gold Glove goal as Cincinnati Reds outfield defense shows improvement

ATLANTA – There might not have been a person inside of Truist Park who thought Nick Senzel had a chance to make a catch when Alex Dickerson drove a ball into the right-center gap in the sixth inning Saturday.

Pitcher Hunter Strickland thought it was going to be a one-out double. Catcher Aramis Garcia had a good view from behind the plate and didn’t think Senzel had a chance at it when it came off the bat. Statcast gave Senzel a 5% catch probability.

Senzel was positioned on the other side of second base from where the ball landed, medium depth in center field.
