Nick Senzel has been on the injured list without an injury designation since Aug. 19, and he provided his first update Monday.
"I will be back on the field soon," Senzel wrote on Instagram. "Thank you to everyone for their well wishes and support. I got great news today, which is one step closer to returning to the field."
The last time he played in a game was Aug. 14, the Reds' 8-1 win over Pittsburgh. He didn't participate in the post-game victory handshake line and was escorted to the dugout by third-base coach J.R. House. Senzel tossed his glove on the roof of the dugout before walking to the clubhouse.
