Nick Senzel making progress toward return; Hunter Greene in elite territory with velocity

ATLANTA – Nick Senzel began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on June 30, playing in six rehab games before Tuesday, and he could be nearing the final stages before rejoining the Cincinnati Reds roster.

Senzel is batting 3-for-17 on his rehab assignment (.176 batting average) with one RBI, two walks and zero strikeouts. There have been days where he didn’t recover as expected, which has slowed his rehab, but he progressed well last weekend.

“Nick's getting really close,” Reds manager David Bell said. “He's physically doing a lot better. We've only allowed him to play center field up to this point.
