Nick Northcut, Cincinnati prospect from Mason High School, has 3-HR game for Chattanooga

Nick Northcut, a former Mason High School standout, hit three home runs in a game Wednesday night for the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts in their 9-5, 11-inning win against the Tennessee Smokies.

Northcut's first two homers of the game came in the 3rd and 4th innings off of Smokies starter Jordan Wicks. Northcut, 23, homered again in the top of the 11th off of Carlos Guzman, a three-run shot that gave the Lookouts an 8-5 lead.

Northcut now has four HRs in 67 plate appearances over 17 games this season for Chattanooga.

Last June, Northcut hit three homers in a game for the Greenville Drive, a High-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.
