Nick Castellanos makes it clear: designated hitter is not for him

When it became clear that the designated hitter was going to be part of every game when Major League Baseball resumed, it gave the Reds a way to get one of the free-agent bats they signed into the lineup on a daily basis.

But Nick Castellanos made it clear that DHing is not for him.

“I don’t want to DH,” he said. “I chose to come to the Reds, first and foremost, I believe they can win. But also, I like being in National League where I get to play defense every day. A goal of mine is to become a better and better defender every year that I play – every game that I play is probably a more appropriate answer.
