SAN FRANCISCO – Flailing at another changeup from Luis Castillo, San Francisco Giants outfielder Tyler Austin shook his head as he walked toward his team’s dugout. Castillo, walking off the mound, looked toward catcher Tucker Barnhart and pointed at him while smiling.
Sometimes it can be a helpless feeling for hitters. Castillo threw a first-pitch changeup to Austin that caught the outside corner. His next pitch was a 97-mph fastball that tailed toward the right-handed batter’s box, which Austin swung at and missed. After a foul ball and a held check swing, Austin struck out on an 87-mph changeup that dove below the strike zone.
