José Garcia, Alfredo Rodriguez homer in Cincinnati Reds' spring tie vs. Colorado Rockies

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona – It wasn’t a perfect start with three walks, but there was plenty to like about Tyler Mahle’s start against the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday at Salt River Fields.

Mahle allowed two hits and two runs (one earned) in 3 u2153 innings while striking out five. With under two weeks remaining in camp, he feels like he’s almost ready for the season. In the second inning, Rockies star Nolan Arenado started with a 2-0 count. Mahle struck him out, sneaking a slider past him for strike three.

He was encouraged by an at-bat against Daniel Murphy to open the fourth inning.
